Christmas Part 2

When we got home from church we began opening presents and had a ton of fun!

Annabelle slept through it it all...

Lia's First Real Haircut

Amelia's hair has gotten quite long but (between part of it being shaved for surgery and the section of small broken pieces from when she used to twirl her hair) it's a bunch of different layers that are so hard to keep looking decent. So I took her to my friend Heather today for a real hair cut! It looks so great !

Buggy's First Laugh

Yesterday Brian got Annabelle to laugh! It was so cute!

She also had her 8 week check-up. She is not 10 pounds 14.5 ounces and 23.25 inches!

Last night Belle woke up at about 4am (after waking up every 2 hours before that). I got up and groggily walked to her room to feed her. When I opened her door my nostrils were instantly assaulted with the odor of a very full diaper! It woke me up. I thought to myself "Yay, she finally pooped, but I bet it's a big mess that I have to clean up...I'm going to really wake her up and she'll never go back to sleep!" I turned on her flower night light, peered into her crib and was greeted with the largest, prettiest smile! It made me smile...and forget that I was tired and annoyed it was my turn to change her diaper and not Brian's.

It took me a good 15-20 minutes to get her all cleaned up and the whole time she was smiling at me, cooing, and talking to me. I smiled, laughed and talked back. I wrapped her up and fed her. But, instead of checking Facebook on my phone or playing Words with Friends, I looked at her. She looked back at me and smiled. Over and over. It was the kind of time that I treasure and will always remember. When she was done eating she was still wide awake so we rocked and I sang to her for a while. When she started getting sleepy I put her back in her crib and she fell asleep on her own.

I have a hard time getting up at night and I usually hope Belle with just eat and go to back to sleep so I can go back to sleep...but I am learning to savor those special moments I get with her, with no interruptions. I've realized it's just about the only time she gets my full and undivided attention. And I'm enjoying that special time I have with her.

P.S. Amelia woke up crying last night too. I went in and asked her what was wrong and as she struggled to catch her breath and in between sobs she said "Coleson hit me!" I couldn't help but laugh as I calmed her down, reminded her that Coleson wasn't even in bed yet (he was still out with Brian) and that she would be ok...But she insisted he hit her! It was hilarious.

Blessing Day

Brian blessed our sweet baby Belle in church today. It was a beautiful blessing and we were able to have so many family members there!

Amelia Update

On Friday we were back up at Primary Children's for a follow up with Amelia's eye doctor. We realized it was 2 years, to the day, since she first saw him! We were happy to hear that her eyes look perfect!

Private Showing of Breaking Dawn!

Thursday at 7pm I got to see Breaking Dawn Part 1 at a private screening with my brother and his girlfriend Sam. It was put on by Utah Surgical Arts (Sam's Dad's practice) and it was so much fun! I really liked the movie! I felt so special walking past all the people waiting in line for the Midnight showings!

Week 6

We've made it through the first 6 weeks of sweet Annabelle's life. It's gone by really fast even though we had many long nights. I feel like I'm starting to figure her out. She has been really smiley this week and started cooing. She loves being held, has burps that rival Coleson, and likes being on her stomach so she can suck on her fist.

Week 5

This week Annabelle rolled over from her tummy to her back, has grown out of all her newborn clothes, took a pacifier a few times, was fed Halloween candy by Amelia, and fell asleep while being held by Coleson...twice!

Our Halloween was pretty low key. We trick-or-treated around the neighborhood and turned in early, but it was fun.

1 Month

Our little buggy is 1 month old today. She likes to be held, swing in the baby swing or be on her tummy. She likes to be swaddled really tight, but with her feet left hanging out. She is a great eater but has some digestion issues...We just got some Colic Calm and that seems to he helping her gassiness. We all just love her so much!
