SUMMER!!!

I am trying to stay busy this summer to distract myself from the heat and how uncomfortable pregnancy is. Swimming, soccer, movies, cousin time, a little family reunion, working in the garden, picnics, long naps and more swimming.

 Amelia lost another tooth.

Brian and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary on June 10th. We went out to eat and reminisced about our amazing trip to Italy was...sigh...the sushi was really good too.

First few weeks of summer...

Summer was kicked off with a big neighborhood party the day school got out. Since then we've been spending time at the "beach", Thanksgiving Point of the splash pad. Coleson has been playing baseball and I got a bike which has been super fun. Brian got a shed and has been putting it together. There has also been a lot of yard work and gardening to fill our summer days.

Itty Bitty Soccer

Yesterday was the last day of Itty Bitty Soccer. Coleson had a ton of fun at soccer with a bunch of friends and I enjoyed sitting in an air conditioned gym, chatting with my friends, and cheering him on.

First goal!

Swimming Lessons Part 2

Coleson just finished his second set of swim lessons. Amelia couldn't move up to the next level until she turns 3, but I wanted to keep the good momentum Coleson had going and put him in the next level. He did really well and enjoyed himself.

This set of swim lessons was a little harder some days, because they were early in the morning and it was a little cold.

As you can see, Coleson is a very serious student...

But, his favorite part are the games the play at the end!

Swimming Lessons

We finished our first set of swimming lessons! Both kids passed their classes with flying colors. Coleson starts the next level next week. Amelia, on the other hand, has to wait until she turns 3 to move up to the next level.
The only problem with doing a Mommy and Me class with Amelia is that I couldn't take pictures of Coleson. I watched him out of the corner of my eye during my class and he was always so happy and excited. I'm looking forward to taking pictures next week. I did take a few quick pictures before our last class today:

I highly recommend the AF Fitness Center swim classes! They have SO many more than Lehi and there are 2 teachers per class. Awesome!

Enjoying the Summer

I know that it's going to get super hot outside very soon, and I'm not going to want to go anywhere, so I'm trying to take advantage of the nice warm weather...Plus, the kids are so much happier when we do fun things (duh!) and have some sort of routine.
Every Tuesday we hit the family matinee movie. $5 for 10 movies throughout the summer in my kind of deal. (Watching a movie and an air conditioned theatre is a prego mom's dream!)
Wednesdays we usually hit up 7 Peaks Water Park. I love sitting in the wave pool and watching the kids play! Thursday's we go to story time at the library.

Since we're going with family on Friday to 7 Peaks, we went to the Zoo today to use our pass one last time before it expires tomorrow.
They have a new dinosaur exhibit and robotic dinosaurs all over the park. Coleson thought it was super cool, but Amelia covered her eyes and said "scary!" every time we walked by one.
The Zoo is building a new habitat for the polar bears and Coleson can't wait for it to be done. A few weeks ago we got a letter in the mail about donating to the exhibit. I gave it to Coleson to look at because it had a bunch of different animal pictures. He, of course, asked a million questions about it and decided he wanted to take some money to the polar bears. This morning as we were getting ready, out of the blue, he remembered that he wanted to donate and found a stash of pennies he had put away for them. It was very sweet of him.
As always we finished with a train ride! We've had a fun year of visiting the zoo.
