Fun Friday

We had a really fun Friday. It felt like our last summer hurrah before school starts on Tuesday. It started with a BBQ with Brian's team at work. There was good food, a pool, and lots of friends. Then we headed home, packed a picnic dinner and headed to Manila Park in Pleasant Grove. I had never been there before but it was awesome! Man-made beach, shallow water that was perfect for the kids and our great neighbors Curtis, Krystal, and their son Boston who are so fun to hang out with!

Glass Flowers

Brian got me a groupon for a class at Holdman Studio's, to make glass flowers, for valentines day. Well, we finally got a babysitter and did it. It was a really cool experience. The most fun and interesting thing I've done in a long time. We were also able to tour their studio. They showed us the stain glass windows they are working on for the temple in Rome! Awesome!

Getting the party started...

We kicked off our 4th of July weekend with Brian's hernia surgery and lots of fun with cousins,

The surgery was quick and went well. The recovery will not be quick, but Brian is feeling better every day, walking around, eating normally, and working on his BYU Independent Study classes. (In the last 2 days he's finished 3/4ths of a class!)

Friday we went to 7 Peaks and then the gardens at Thanksgiving Pointe with our cousins.

It was a long and hot day, but we had so much fun! We are looking forward to a fun family BBQ and fireworks tonight too!

Enjoying the Summer

I know that it's going to get super hot outside very soon, and I'm not going to want to go anywhere, so I'm trying to take advantage of the nice warm weather...Plus, the kids are so much happier when we do fun things (duh!) and have some sort of routine.
Every Tuesday we hit the family matinee movie. $5 for 10 movies throughout the summer in my kind of deal. (Watching a movie and an air conditioned theatre is a prego mom's dream!)
Wednesdays we usually hit up 7 Peaks Water Park. I love sitting in the wave pool and watching the kids play! Thursday's we go to story time at the library.

Since we're going with family on Friday to 7 Peaks, we went to the Zoo today to use our pass one last time before it expires tomorrow.
They have a new dinosaur exhibit and robotic dinosaurs all over the park. Coleson thought it was super cool, but Amelia covered her eyes and said "scary!" every time we walked by one.
The Zoo is building a new habitat for the polar bears and Coleson can't wait for it to be done. A few weeks ago we got a letter in the mail about donating to the exhibit. I gave it to Coleson to look at because it had a bunch of different animal pictures. He, of course, asked a million questions about it and decided he wanted to take some money to the polar bears. This morning as we were getting ready, out of the blue, he remembered that he wanted to donate and found a stash of pennies he had put away for them. It was very sweet of him.
As always we finished with a train ride! We've had a fun year of visiting the zoo.

Lia's First Jazz Game

Last week, as Brian's plane was landing, the stewardess said "Anyone going to be in Salt Lake next week and want tickets to the Utah Jazz game?" Brian immediately said yes and grabbed 2 tickets.

On Wednesday, we dropped Coleson off with his cousin's and headed up to the game. We sat in the Delta Sky Box. It was awesome! They had a full dinner, drinks, snacks, and dessert. We brought Amelia with us and she had a great time watching her first Jazz game...or running around the sky box and eating nachos at least!

It was a great game. Jazz barely pulled it out at the end and won!

What we've been up to:

I thought that I was 12 weeks along this week, but it turns out that I'm only 11 weeks. I have been feeling much better this week...Maybe I tricked myself into feeling better because I thought I was further along...Since I've been feeling better we have been trying to get out of the house a bit.

Last week we went to Cabela's with some friends. There is so much to do at that store and it's totally free. We loved seeing the fish and animals!

Lia and Issac checking out the fish.

Coleson's favorite part was feeding the trout.

We went to the dentist. Over the last few years we've tried a few different dentists and I think we finally found the right one. Lia DID NOT like having her teeth looked at, but everyone else loves Dr. Ferrell!

Yesterday we went to the Dinosaur Museum with some boys from Coleson's preschool. They had so much fun. It was great to get to know another preschool mom too.

Lia digging for bones.

Coleson and Shad. Coleson always talks about Shad and I'm glad we finally got them together to play outside school.

We spent the most time in the sand and water area.

Olympic Animal Farm

Olympic Animal Farm

We spent the last few days in Sequim, Wa having a ton of fun! We took the ferry over there, stayed in a hotel, swam in the pool, and went to the Olympic Animal Farm. It was the coolest place! Animal come right up to the car and you can feed them! It was a great trip!

Peter Pan!

Last night my Aunt Kaly treated us (Lisa, Cole, Brooke, Kiffyn, Coleson and me) to a great night at BYU's production of Peter Pan. It was a great show and the boys loved it! The orchestra was great, the singing was phenomenal, I was even really impressed with the set design.

Cole and Coleson...silly boys who were enthralled with the funny pirates and Peter Pan flying around the stage!

It was a great Mommy/Coleson date!

This week:

I have been a little out of it after getting my wisdom teeth out. I was sick of being inside and feeling gross so I tried extra hard to have a fun and productive week.
Monday was a holiday but we stayed inside while I caught up on random stuff...and read my book. I got sucked into the Huger Games series. (Which I loved but my kids were going a little stir crazy being in the house all day.) So, on Tuesday I took the kids out for a fun day at the zoo. It was a gorgeous, almost warm day, which is rare for January.

Wednesday, I met Brian at BYU and we all went to the Museum of Art to see the Carl Bloch exhibit. It wasn't as extensive as I thought it would be, but it was gorgeous and powerful. I loved it. Then, my brother came over and Brian and I went out on a date and saw Harry Potter. Finally! It was awesome!

Thursday, I got to have lunch with my Mom during her lay-over at the Salt Lake Airport and Friday I visited with friends while Coleson was at school.
Saturday started with some cleaning but quickly turned to fun. Coleson had 2 birthday's he was invited to and he loved every minute of the parties. The first, I ran errands during, but the second I was around for and it was tons of fun.

Coleson and I played alot of Skee Ball and he got really good at it! Seriously, he's get at lease 100,000 points per round. He was so proud of all the tickets he won! A great end to a fun week!
