Valentine's Day

Our Valentine celebration this year started a little bit early...when our new bedroom furniture was delivered! (It just happened to come before the holiday so we decided it would be our V. day gift to each other.) I cannot even tell you how excited I am to have a new mattress, and a king size one at that! Friday the 13th the kids had parties at school and spent the afternoon sorting their cards and treats. That night Brian and I went to Ruth's Chris with some friends. Luckily I was having a good day and was able to enjoy the deliciousness. Saturday was pretty typical--basketball game, cleaning the house, playing at the park, working on our chopstick skills at dinner--but we were together and a family.

An early Valentine's Day

Monday night, for FHE, we celebrated Valentine's Day. (Since Brian will be gone on the actual day.) I had recently found a Wal-mart gift card (from last Christmas...As in Christmas 2009) that still had a few bucks on it that I used to buy the kids pillow pets. Until they were actually in my house, I had no idea why they were popular. Now I understand the phenomenon. They are awesome. It's a pillow, it's a pet!

The happy kiddos!
Brian and I are doing laser hair removal for V.day. Oh so romantic! I am stoked!

V.day & 11 Months

I just realized I never posted about Valentine's Day! Here it is:
We stuck to our special dinner tradition. It's the one time of year that I pull out my wedding china! This year I made Ahi Tuna kabobs over rice pilaf. Delish!

I made a cute outfit ( I stinkin' love the ruffly bum!) for Amelia but she was being camera shy...

and finally gave up trying to take a cute picture!

Coleson gave me a super cute card and Brian gave me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. We had a great V.day!
Amelia is now 11 months old. She is growing and developing well. She spends lots of time rolling around on the ground and sitting up. Not quite trying to crawl yet. She LOVES books. She is popping out teeth like crazy and has almost 7 now. Her snaggle tooth smile is turning into a gap tooth smile. It's adorable. I'm hoping to get some 11 month pictures soon!

Valentines Dinner

This year, instead of braving the crazy crowds at a restaurant, I made Brian a surprise Valentines dinner. He came home and I had a table set up in the living room with our china and crystal-the first time it's been used since we got it for our wedding-and I made a steak and lobster dinner! It's my first time cooking shell fish too! I was really nervous about it but it tasted great! I also made pretty blueberry shortcakes. Coleson watched Finding Nemo while we ate our romatic dinner coming in occasionally to take a taste. It was all so yummy, and was a wonderful valentines day!
